Report:
headed to youghal beach because the pier was locked up  first cast i had a 38cm codlet so returned him in hope of a bigger fella hooked into a good ray on the next cast but lost him very close to shore because i was showing off a small bit i was in the water up to my knees had the fish at my feet but waited for paul to come out so i could show him how i land big ray   boy did that go wrong  paul came out we decided the fish was over ten pound while it was swimming around at our feet so i started to glide it towards the shore when the inevitable happened fish done a bit of splashing and just started swimming back towards the sea man did he laugh, laughed a bit myself too straight away before i had recasted paul was into a smaller ray landed it without any show boating quick weigh and back it went pulled the scales down to 6lb we both got whiteing on the next few casts 2x40cm 1x36 1x34 paul got a nice coali on the last cast and i had a nice 54cm cod on the last cast enjoyable night even after looseing a big fish

Nice one mate and I just know that the whiting will be made very welcome on a plate with a few chips and some peas, hope that some more good whiting will turn up yest never know even though the weather is not what you would call good whiting weather.
