Thinking of going over to fixed spool/long rod combo, and have being trying to locate a shakespeare red metal, without much luck, have been told that the penn twin tip affinity is the same rod from the same stable...any body throw some light on this....

Re: long rod question
i have the 16 ft penn and its a good rod alright, a bit awkward being 16ft, i tryed the 14 ft and 15 ft versions and they seem really nice but im not sure would the shorter versions cast as far. i also looked for a red metal before i bought mine but ended up getting the penn.
