Bass

#1 Post by Peter Kinsella »

Now- I’ve caught many bass from the strands around here but never one from the boat. Can I please ask for the benefit of someone else’s experience, preferably of the West coast?

What bait ?
What sort of mark ?
What depth ?
Bottom fishing?
State of tide ?
Time of year ?

My success with bass from the shore has mostly been during the autumn and winter months, using lug or artifical lures in surf conditions. Mainly when high tide coincides with nightfall.

Thanks, in advance of any response,

Peter.

try a sliding bubble float with the depth set at about 5-6 ft a size 3/0 hook loaded with a very large squid/lug cocktail fished well down tide, this is proving very sucessful at baltray and termenfecken
