Mitchell Mag Pro lite 2000 query

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Mitchell Mag Pro lite 2000 query

#1 Post by stevo74 »

Hello all,
I have a quick query regarding the new Mitchell Mag Pro lite 2000 which I bought a month ago. I recently noticed that part of the bail arm does not sit flush with the casing of the part of reel it screws into(see pic). It appears to be designed this way as the casing piece is not straight but curved-You can see into this part of the reel and its internal components which to me is an invitation for sand to get into! None of my other reels are like this(they are all Shimano) and I am wondering if all Mitchell Mag pro lite 2000 reels are built like this or whether my one has design flaw? I would appreciate if anyone else has the same reel if they could confirm this please?

cheers
Steven

That certainly looks like a bent bail arm injury as if it has been dropped at some stage. This could well have happened in either the factory or the wholesalers warehouse. Was the box it was supplied in crushed??If you bought it by post this could well have been kicked around in various depots. It is not uncommon.I am sure the reel was expensive enough. You could work on with it but I would'nt.If it was like this when new that should certainly not be that shape.
