Galway RNLI Charity Fundraiser January 14th 2012

Hi All,
I've been in touch with Galway RNLI and Galway Buccaneers SAC are going to run a charity fundraiser on their behalf. This will be an annual event and we will have raffle prizes available, There is no entry fee as this is not a competition donations to the RNLI staff collecting would be appreciated. Suggested donations are: Adults €20 Juniors €10 monies raised will go to Galway RNLI.


Galway RNLI will have staff on site with collection buckets and flags etc to let
the public know what's going on also various media outlets have agreed to highlight the fundraiser in the run up to the event. anyone can attend so please step up to the plate and support a very worthy cause...


Date - Saturday the 14th of January 2012
Venue - Salthill
Time - 12:00-16:00
Angling Charity Fundraiser donations and all other revenues generated will go to the RNLI
We will have sponsored prizes from the local tackle shops as raffle prizes
There will be club members on hand to talk to anyone interested in sea angling
The more education we can pass on to the general public with regards to sea angling within a controlled and safe club environment the better...

Hi All,
we had a Provincial Council meeting this evening and it was rightly pointed out that as a new club our affiliation does not kick in until January the 1st 2012 and there could be ramifications regarding insurance etc...

So as there can be no issues with this in mind this has now been put back until Saturday January the 14th 2012 see the amended details above...

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused and we look forward to making this a fun day out whilst raising money for the RNLI

On a separate note we will also be hosting a fundraiser for: http://www.aware.ie/index.php/ at a later stage in 2012 details to follow in due course...

hi conor. i'll give noel a shout today to see if he is still gonna make it to the event. if so myself and jordan will make it over as the RNLI is a very worthy cause in serious need of support. i saw a bit on the news this morning detailing the millions in short fall their finances have taken for 2011. i think it cost close to 8 million more to run this year than what they recieved in donations. so the global finincial meltdown is starting to hit charities hard. :( :(
but god could you imagine a world without the RNLI :shock: :shock:

for anyone coming from the east side of Galway its quite easy to get to salthill follow any sign post you see for clifden and then after you cross The Quincentenary Bridge follow the signs for salthill,the Fundraiser will be fished near the blackrock diving board,photo of it here http://www.geograph.ie/photo/1492018

Thank you to everyone who supported the RNLI fundraiser today particularly all the visiting anglers... With a healthy table of over €550 worth of spot prizes it meant everyone went away with something... Thanks to Corrib Tackle, Daire Lynch Artworks, Galway Bay Fishing, Super Value, The Town House Bar & Restaurant, Charlie Morton, Duncan Browne & Conor Mountaine for sponsoring prizes. Plans are already in place for next years RNLI fundraiser which promises to be even bigger with sponsors already having pledged support!! tight lines one and all for the rest of the year from all at Galway Buccaneers SAC
