Antrim coast v Down coast

#1 Post by bennymc »

Just a thought lads, why is it the Co down coast line is fishing far better than it's north east antrim neighbour.Having spent many a session on the antrim coast the last few months i'm at a loss as to why the down coastline is throwing up a better stamp of fish.Is this the norm?anybody offer any thoughts
always fish on the wild side. But hey, lets be careful out there

Thats very contradictory to the Norm, I havent heard of anything Huge coming off the Down coast this winter, Antrim is usually the way to go for a better stamp of fish.
There's plenty of fish down this way, They don't reach any size, But there's plenty of them.

Opposite on the North Side I'd say, The Odd Big one always crops up on the north coast...

Glad to hear i haven;t been floggin a dead horse this last few months with the chance to catch anything over 20-25cm.However, other than Ronalds report for Ballycastle yesterday everyonne iv'e spoke to has been havin much the same results as me.were as lecale pininsula gaurentees to give you half a chance.Weell it has on my last half dozen visits.Even your home patch k2 has been a lot kinder than the antrim coast.Mind you we are talkin winter months here

Aye, But as I said, When it comes to the East Down coast at least, it lags well behind the Antrim Coast, except with the exception of Portaferry, which I still believe if fished properly would produce some spectacular catches...
