a monsoon and a bass

#1 Post by Tom H »

People:me

Duration: 2 hs

Tide:there was one

Weather: wet

Bait:lure

Rigs:N/A

Results: bass
First catch report in bit from me. Have been out a few times over the last few weeks (all blanks) Any ways took a drive down the road to a mark that should hold a few fish but with this being the co Down coast! Anyways pull up and get the waders on and go for a walk just as the rain is starting. Find a nice wee rocky spit that gives way onto sand with a good tide rip running past it. On with a Hart x3 pencil and start having a few chucks around, 4 or 5 casts later a white trout of about 3lb smacked the plug hard but no hook up. Ten minutes go bye and another hit (not used to this! been a poor year fish wise) A moment or two later I'm slipping back a nice wee bass of about 1.3/4 lb! Fish on for a bit but with the rain almost monsoon like and my wading jacket not as waterproof as it once was. It was time to call it a day.

nice to get a bass in all that rain 8) it woke me early this morning hammering the roof and doing a good job of cleaning the moss of the tiles  weather like this confirms if your fishing jacket is really waterproof or not  or if your mad enough to test it

Well done tom, not too often i see any reports here from the co down coast, i have tried lots of places from rostrevor to newcastle and have blanked so many times i just head south or the antrim coastline.. Although i havn't really tried anywhere north of newcastle, i should probably give it a bash sometime...
