35lb line will cast like a pig due to its larger diameter. Why are you going for 35lb mono? 20lb should be sufficient with the right end tackle - ie rotten bottom and a slightly softer hook. Have a search for rough ground rigs in the archives.
I used to use 20lb Red Ice which I really liked, but some people say they've had a bad stock. Theory is that coloured lines deteriorate quicker. I found it to be a tough line though and really had to pull and pull for a break. If it's that stuck on 20lb, it will be stuck the same on 35lb or 60lb!
Just for fun, I tried some braid. Now, I only use 60lb braid with a 60lb mono shock-leader. You get a real contact with the terminal tackle using braid and it has the same diameter as 16lb mono. I know this sounds like a contradiction of my earlier comment about your 35lb mono, but the difference is the diameter and the casting abilility of the line.
If you don't want to try braid, you won't go far wrong with the Suffix line you mentioned, but go for the 20lb not the 35.

Hi Lumpy,
I was in holidays Clonakility last summer and saw suffix titanium was on sale in a tackle shop there. Not the one in the main steet but off some kind of a market. Sorry I can't remember the details of the place.
I use the suffix titanium 0.40mm for my mixed ground fishing and find it exellent. Use that leeda stingray stuff for rough ground as I don't have to cast to far and I can change it quite often due to wear as its cheap. It wouldn't be any better than what your using.
Braid is fine until it touchs off rock under strain and snaps. I've seen good conger lost after the angler had struck and the line has barely touched a rock platformon the strike. Even with mono leader trying to make sure no part of the line above touchs rock can be a pain. Trying to get fish into a drop net while keeping the braid away from rock platform or pier is also difficult.

firstly you obviously dont fish the kinda rough ground we fish. 20lb line and softer hooks wont land a fish, and i already fish rotton bottom pully rigs made from 100 pound mason hard mono.as im targeting near speciman bull huss in my opinion 35lb is essential especially with the heavy kelp we fish into.
as regards to that tackle shop off the main street it closed unfortunately so can't get it there.donagh was also thinking about the red ice. heard it was meant to be a great congering line for rough ground. the one factor though is the marks i fish for huss are not distance marks, just a 60/70 yard lob is sufficient.

i thought the same as your self idpearl when i started fishing there a couple of years back. first time fished the area we lost 3 or 4 huss because our 20lb snapped like cotton, suppose hindsight is a great thing!!. just heard alot about the sufix line and was wondering what people thought of it.

some thing strong , high abrasion resistance and cheap!!!
on one rough ground reel i use fladen stark in 30lb straight through and find it really hard to break!!and only £5 a spool!
on others i use berkley big game trilene and iron silk both great lines bout around £10 a spool
the beauty of the cheaper lines is that you can change them regularly as they will weaken inevitably every time you use them.

you hit the nail on the head with that one phil. just the daiwa i got is basically s*#t to fish with, coils up like a spring when i wound it on the reel.

Lumpy have a try of Trilene Big Game. I use 30lb or 40lb straight through of the NE coast of England. Trilene is not the thinnest diameter wise but is very abrasion resistant. diameter is not a problem anyway when fishing at the sort of distance you require.
I also use it from 12lb up for spinning etc. 15lb on Abu 6500 for light beach, 20lb on SL20/525 mag for general shore work.
If you know anyone going to Florida get it in the Walmarts or big fishing stores for less than £5 a spool. Shop around and you can get it mail order over here for around £7.
Hope it helps.
