as yorkshireman says, shrinkpictures.com is a great site to do it
otherwise, do you have Microsoft Office Picture Manager..?
if so, then open the picture in it and right-click on it. then from the menu select 'Edit Pictures...' then 'Resize' from the menu on the right. You can now choose the new dimensions of the picture and then save the new resized image. its much quicker than any website i reckon....
either method works well.
hope this helps

It's not a Huss, it's a dogfish. Your scale must be broken.
A 20lb Huss would be a tiny bit bigger and stronger than the one in the picture.

I caught a small Huss in east cork few nights ago 3.5ft. Grey.

Wish it was a dog fish cause I'd never give out about catching doggies that size!

20Lb is what it said on the scale. It's a rapala scale so it's pretty accurate. I'm not really into weighing fish or specimen hunting, I don't even own a set of scales. It's just not my thing i'm just happy catching fish, so don't really care either way if it was 20 stone 20lb, or 2lb it was a belter of a fish and with the size of the mouth on him I wouldn't fancy havin a row with him.

When you weighed the fish did you subtract use weight of the net or calibrate it? Either way its a cracking fish well done.

Not bothered justifying myself to every post too busy for it but look how close the guy in the first picture is and look how far away I'm standing. The Huss was weighed from the hook in the side of his mouth don't own a sling or a net. I know that's not ideal for the fish but as I said I'm not into weighing fish so I don't have the kit.I didn't even post the report cause I knew this crap would start ( cheers Mike) and that's why I rarely post a report. In fairness I rarely catch a fish that big but it's not worth the hassle.

Cheers

Regardless of the weight, scales, sling etc still a good catch and I am sure the auld adernaline was up when trying to get him in, thats what counts. If you look on the site there had been some stonking Huss caught in Mayo, I think the GBSAC lads had a post last year with some videos and if memory serves great with great footage....

So well done and thanks for posting.

sorry Shane ! just wanted to share a good nights fishing with people. Those pics look like they were taken with a proper camera in daylight on a dry day. Not on a phone in the pissing rain blowing a gale with frozen fingers. i will test the scales when i can and with the exception of conger your not likely to catch much bigger than that from the shore in the north west >

WOW  Cracker Huss Mate!!!,
Just to row in with various comments....a well written article was in the Irish Angler this week about just an argument just like this weighing fish... I weigh mine via a bag (a cut down the sides tesco chill bag one with handles ;) )when they are decent size... but in comps this one writer wrote about... it was on the lines of should a fish be weighed or measured for points, as different factors have to be included in for weight..such as has the fish eaten recently, what was the primary diet etc..or if a female is it carrying eggs? very interesting article ...so I weigh and measure mine now (not for anybody else just for my own records)

Cracker of a huss. It looks a fair old lump and I am sure you enjoyed dragging her in. Doesn't really matter if the pictures are a bit dodgy, camera phones can be a bit temperamental at the best of times.

Doggie...? WTF

Well done

Thats the post Gerry thanks for digging it up. I mentioned it as there was reference in the videos from the GBSAC lads to the weight of the Huss as a comparison to Shanes.

Hope it helps... All the same a really good catch.
