Weather:wet then very windy

Bait:rag and mackeral

Rigs:various

Results:1 flounder

Report:
Headed off on Fri. night for an evening session on Downhill beach. Weather wasn’t too bad with raining sort of coming down.
Big thanks to weedave for sorting me out with rag worms!!
Got down to the beach and there was a few people there already fishing away. I set up and on my first cast caught a small flounder. Happy days I thought!
No it wasn’t! the wind picked up really strong and actually knocked the rod stand over! Next thing I know the lead was being pulled down the beach and added to that the crabs were cleaning the hooks!
I admitted defeat and packed up at half 9 and headed home to go to the pub instead! Lol good night’s craic but the weather ruined the evening.
I didn’t take a pic of the flounder but I did take pic of this small fish I foul hooked. Any idea what it is.

nothin worse then the rods blowin over :( I thinks thats a small whitting and if they are about they are the reason behind top hooks being cleaned off!! in a flapper 2 up or more situation ;)

good job on getting out though.

no problem with the worms mate. wouldnt see you stuck.

looks like the whiting in the pic. if they where about you'd be getting worms stripped every cast. in saying that i've been meaning to try them as live bait for bass!!!

you be out this week at all??
