Re: South Beach Skerries 10/09/11
if it has flounder then it prob has bass but when is the question
some marks over that way fish for bass better for the first few hours after low water
some around high water i think an hour and a half is a bit too short a session to say you gave it a good try and a few lug and rag could improve your chances 8)some crab fished out past the surf might find a smoothy so fish two rods one for bass and one for smoothies

Hard luck chris ,good to see someone trying these spots, never tried skerries for beach fishing ,tried spinning that beach once got a small seatrout, years ago ,but if there's small ones there's big ones, I'd love to try shennick island spit on the fill but don't fancy being stuck there for hours over high tide, bass in north dublin can turn up anywhere, but if there's trout and flounder on that beach shud be bass, I think rasor is a good bait anywhere the trawlers dredge ,its what they are used to eating from all the discard s in the water, I wouldn't worry about lug never seems to work for me, around the area but does elsewhere, anyway keep plugging away, this is the time for the big bass, good luck happy fishing

Re: South Beach Skerries 10/09/11
Cheers lads, There are definitely Bass there, it's just a matter of being there the same the as they are and having the rite Bait..... I'm surprised so many people head for Wexford and Wicklow when there are fish to be caught around here. It is true that there are more fish there but in the rite conditions there are fish to be caught everywhere!
I would normally have had some Rag with me but I just took the opportunity to go with what I had in the Freezer when the young lad was at Rugby.
I'd love to see more people trying the beaches and rock marks up around North co. Dublin as I think there are a few surprises to be had....
Nice to get a couple of fish though
