I have fished from boat between Inish Boffin and Inish Shark (off Boffin's West End). There's a very deep channel there (60 to 80 metres I think) with large pollack available at very least (large cod previously also). This channel may be within casting distance of the shore. Find any spot facing Shark and you might get a pleasant surprise.
I have never fished Boffin from the shore, but there's good depth available (off north end also), we saw a sunfish basking within 100m of the shore, do you know how to hook one of those?

Let us know how you get on (aside from the music and the craic)
