Super fishing everyone :D Al, well done on a brilliant, well written and very detailed report, it was a very enjoyable read. And great pictures to boot. Congratulations Connor on getting your first Cuckoo Ray, the trip was well worth it and your species count got a real boost which is a great result. By the sounds of it Al you were the perfect host. Good on you. Well done Jordan also, your doing brilliantly.

tight lines wrote:good fishing men great when a plan comes together even if it was last couple of hours but connor did get his ray so well done and great report as aways AL
cheers man. i was getting a bit of a sweat on  , but conor got there in the end :P
chuckaroo wrote:MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! indeed. great informative read as usual Al. classs
the pressure was on for sure there. Conor will have driven home quite a relieved man! :D maybe not as reieved as yourself tho  8)
cheers charlie. i was getting a bit worried when you never got one during the week  . i was starting to think that mabey they had moved out of the bay already. i knew they were being caught furthur north of that mark recently, but thankfully they were still about. it would have been a real dig in the guts for conor having to watch junior get one every time we fished there and him to be left out. but thankfully the fish gods were smiling down on us on the second night :P
saltydog wrote:Thanks gents was delighted to land my first cuckoo ray and the hatful of new species for the year was an added bonus...

Hats off to Al he couldn't have done anymore for me over the weekend from cooking up a storm during the fishing sessions with hot-dogs burgers etc to supplying the bait freshly dug worms and mackerel cold beers on our return and in the morning (mid afternoon) strong coffee and a fry that would keep an army marching for days on :D top drawer stuff ;)

Really enjoyed fishing some new marks with a good variety of species available but most of all the banter and company was first class...

I'll definitely make a trip up again and sample some more of the excellent fishing Northern Ireland has to offer

and Jordan has come on so much since I last fished with him he was pretty damn good before now he's moved up another level handling his 525 with ease and getting good distance to boot much to the chargrin of several anglers at Bangor who couldn't get out to where the mackerel were ;)

Thanks again and my door is always open for when ever you fancy some west coast fishing...
thanks very much man. it was a pleasure having you over and boy was i relieved when you finally got your ray :D antrim and down still has some decent fishing available to the determined angler if you put in the time and effort  we'll have to get you out rock climbing to that mark in co down i was telling you about. plenty of dragonets, cuckoo wrasse and ling to be had from there  :D jordan was made up with the bag of goodies you gave him and reckons that green and yellow rapala lure will get him his first pike of the year  very perch like in appearence :P .
for me, that weekend was what sea angling ireland is all about. like minded anglers coming togeather to help eachother out and providing local knowledge to lads who would otherwise be fishing new marks blind. if it was'nt for the site we would have missed out on so much good fishing over the years. we now have good friends willing to help us out from donegal to dingle and galway to wicklow. and real genuine decent people to boot 8) 8) . it was nice to be able to return the favour and be the ones doing the guiding for a change. if you every fancy a chuck up this way again just drop me a PM. theres always a spare room for you here man
fishface wrote:nice   loving the pic of nemo :D :D he is still alive and shining bright
brighter than ever neil :D althow he almost had a lump taken out of him by a shanny with an attitude problem   we set the 2 of them beside eachother for a piccy and the shanny turned on him and tried to chomp his face off   . those wee guys are like pit bulls with the bite strength to match :!: . thankfully nemo got his face back in one piece in the end.

cheers man. that pic was taken by conor with his digital SLR. a cracking piece of kit compared to my £50 job from lidl's 5 years ago  . i am seriously considering investing in one myself now :P
nicki d wrote:OUTSTANDING. very well done againe to one and all. charotte asked if we can team up some time as i have been winding her up with the fish jordan has been catching. lol
cheers nicki. no problem man. we'll have to get a trip sorted out. but you do realize we'll likely end up being outfished by the 2 of them

thanks paula. i was chatting to norman the other day on the phone. we'll have to get a wee mullet session sorted with you and norman before jordan starts back to school :P :P . he's still determined to get himself one before they dissappear in the autumn :D

thanks zeke. jordan was starting to show us both up by getting the first ray on each session     . so i was just happy to see conor bag one and save a bit of pride for the adults
