Set him on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

Skerries today 10:30--13:00 ,about 50 macks caught pleanty of fishers ,der seems to be a float fishing revolution goin on so I was happy I had planned on using a float ,i saw only 2 or 3 on feathers rest on floats I got 8 myself all good size "viva la revolution"!!
few mackerel starting to show around north county dublin. only thing i hate about mackerel fishing is the gangs of people who never normally fish that come and take over the marks i have to myself the rest of the year, with their half-arsed fishing rods and rusty sets of feathers that havent seen the light of day since this time last year, and then they leave their empty beer tins and various other crap all over the rocks. luckily most of them are too thick to catch mackerel and feck off home after a short while
Had a couple of dozen between two of us in three hours over high water this morning near Ballyvaughan North Clare . It is easy to see that the mackerel are not abundant as the place was deserted and the litter is not too bad yet
The Truth is often stumbled upon by men, most of whom pick themselves up and hurry along as if nothing ever happened. https://baitdigger.wordpress.com

No sign of mackerel. A lot of dissapointed people waiting for them
One local told me that macks should be here in around two weeks time - not so revealing, but keeps a hope
Took a spin up to howth harbour today on low tide and seen a few getting caught on float, most fishing on float and only a couple on feathers catching nothing
you cant beat the float and scrap from a mack on light gear
Makeral belly cut long and thin like sandeel, also sprats ,small sandeel, squid ,even shelled prawn,if macks are scarce dont be afraid to fish a few feet deep mite get a garfish especialy on south coast
fished the mouth of the boyne in a boat using feathers, hok eye and numerous spinners for 3 hours on sun morn 0900 to 1200 ...big fat zilch .....tried from the shore on monday evening low water for an hour ...3 mack 2 big ones 1 skinny fella all fell to silver tazzie...who needs a boat
I’ve been boat fishing over the weekend, fishing out of guileen east cork, very few mackerel inshore but when you get out about 2 miles + there is plenty to be got.
What do seem to be missing this year is the sprat.
By now there should be big shoals of them showing along the shore line.
I’ve yet to see the mackerel break
