Advice on Auxilliary Engine for Boat

#1 Post by cormology »

Just a quick question I am looking to purchase an auxiliary engine for my boat.
It is a 21ft Beneteau Ombrine 630, 6ft beam, 800kg displacement.
There is a 115hp Yamaha as main engine. the spare will be place on a bracket on the stern.
I am just wondering what size of engine would be suitable as a back up.
Any recommendations appreciated

Go for a 10 hp or 15 if ya can afford it also make sure as it's on a bracket that it's a long shaft you need not a short shaft . Hope this helps
