Al,
Was having a look earlier while you were still uploading pics. Super report of a great spell of fishing. The pic that really stands out for me is the one titled 'my best hound from 2nd Wicklow beach', the fish just looks fantastic in that photo. The wee Tompot pic is lovely too.

Well done to Jordan on some really great catches again.

Mega report!

Hopefully see yous up this way in the near future.

However, another unbelievable good report, excellent pictures and congrats to the 'billy goat'(new name now on the cards me thinks ;), a dedication I can only admire, fair play to all of ye's. :D :D :D
After reading about the hospitality and helpfulness you've encountered, I'm certainly convinced that nothing has been lost on the good old spirit and comradeship between like-minded souls. Some have it into them and some don't. Keep it up folks, that's all I can say! 8) Pure class :D
  we'll have to start calling him " GRUFF " it never fails to surprise me with the kindness and decency fellow anglers show to eachother. we've made some real firm friendships over the years through fishing and met some real genuine people who would go out of their way to do you a good turn. sort of restores your faith in the human race considering the amount of scumbags you meet and see from day to day in all walks of life. just goes to prove there are still good people out there (and thankfully most of them are anglers  8) :P )

  cheers dave. it was great seeing you and helen again. always good to make our pilgrimage down the east coast to see old friends. many thanks for the hospitality and the session saving peeler :P :P . hopefully we'll get back down before jordan's birthday in september to see you all again :P :P . great to catch up man 8)
fishface wrote:just goes to show how good bait will catch, and is;nt alful that tackle shops will sell you crap bait and expect to get you to come back for more,i know what i would tell them, thanks be to god that the shops down this way are as good as they are, so glad that both of you got your hounds in the end, see you soon i hope and hope that jordan has fun with his toys
cheers neil. thanks for saving the day with the peeler man. i knew something was odd when both you and mitch were catching hounds and we were'nt getting a sniff :? :? . but as soon as i put on the peeler you gave us it was a hound a cast. as for the peeler we bought up here, i really can't blame the tackle dealer. it was bad bait, but that must have happened on the end of his supplier. if the crab had have thawed out there would have been frozen liquid in the bottom of the packet, but there was'nt. :| :| so the crab must have been off before it was frozen. should have known by the colour of it, peeler is'nt supposed to be black, espically when the stuff all you guys were using was fresh and yellow/green in colour   ahh well we live and learn. jordan's been praticing with his ufo's you gave him, should have some fun with them on a dark beach soon    . great seeing you again man 8)
Mick001 wrote:Cracking report and some class pictures as usural Al. Always good to meet up with old mates and put faces to names for new ones.
You will have to hit west soon and have a go at the Turbot and allusive Westie Bass... :D
Mick
thanks mick. we're due a run out west very soon man  have'nt been over to see noel in a while and jordan is needing to get a huss for his species list. so that will be next on our travel list  :D hopefully see yourself and dan when we get over for a few days

cheers man. our fishing has taken a bit of a back seat lately until my dad gets back on the road to recovery. had the lung removed in april and another 6 weeks of chemo to go yet. so i'm just getting out when he has a good day. but fingers crossed that come september he'll get the all clear and things will get back to normal. then the fish will be in trouble!!! :D :D :D

thanks very much gerry, that would be great man. just as a footnote on the peeler that we had. i was in the shop yesterday and told the owner about it and the guy could'nt have been more apologetic. like i said it was a problem with the supplier and nothing on his behalf. i've been using this guys shop for years and he has always looked after us and could'nt be more genuine as he is an avid angler himself. he immeadieatly reimbursed me for the dodgey crab without question. the peeler must have been dead for a bit before it was frozen down as there was no liquid in the vacume sealed packet. it was just when they started to thaw that all that black liquid came out of them and we knew something was up.   . i suppose it's just one of those things you have to just chalk up to experience. :)
