Rosslare 17-06-11

#1 Post by smutman »

myself

too long

hw and lw

dry warm calm

rag,crab,razor,macks

8 dogs

This is a late report

Fished the point there 2 weeks ago hopin for some smoothhound action as had some luck there last year.
There were a few others but they were'nt havin much luck a few LSD's and alot of crab in the area. So the signs were nt good.
there was little weed around with the first cast and retrive after 20mins but the bait was stripped of the hook so the crabs were going to get a good fed tonight. any thoughts (if there are alot of crab in the area are the fish around knowin that here's a plentiful food source or should there be little crab activity when the fish are about) These are the things you think about staring at the rod tips at night.
Anyways most of the action was close in on mack strips biggest dog about 4lbs surprisingly puttin up a abit of a struggling i thought i had my first hound of the year but not to be. Rag, crab and razor close and far out was just crab food.
Headin down to wexford for the wkdend might go abit more north know the tides arent that great but there's always a chance. Any locations fishin well at the moment and hows the weed and crab situation.
Cheers lads
Tight lines over the wkend

Pick the right tide and the right spot on the point and it can deliver plenty of smuts
