nice fishing there alan. great result with the brill 8) . i always check any suspected turbot we catch to make sure they are turbot and not brill. so easy to make a false ID. an old fella on the north coast showed me a trick that easily tells the difference between the 2. just give it's back a rub and if you feel lumps (tubercles) then it's a turbot. no lumps, it's a brill. i think we robbed ourselves of an extra species the first few years we were catching turbot    . ahh well, we live and learn
well done again man 8) 8)

thanks for that al i was not sure myself so i looked it up on the net, it said the difference between a brill is ,on the under side of the belly it is a whiteish red colour. so i thought it was a brill , but your right it had lumps on the top side,, thanks for letting me know.....

Couple of stunning fish right there. Only ever had small ones and would be extremely happy to catch even one like that in a lifetime to be honest. Great shots too.

Errrm, the two pics are the same fish!!
Just that the top one has had the colours changed!
The markings and position of both the fish match up perfectly!?!?
