something worth reporting at last 02.07.11

#1 Post by last cast lad »

People:me, mick

Duration:7.00-10.00

Tide:dropping

Weather:mild

Bait:lug, mackeral

Rigs:flapper, pulley

Results:me dogs ,1strap conger, pb red gurnard
mick dogs, pb plaice

Report:Cant remember when I last posted anything here but we,ve been fishing mot weeks, though nothing much out of the ordinary to report, plenty of thornbacks around all the usual marks if you can get past the dogs :x (though I have been quoted as saying on the coldest most horribly boring winter sessions that I would never again complain about catching dogfish  )
We headed for a change to one of our deep water rock marks to see what might show up as summer seemed to be at least wanting to come, To start with we had the usual plether of dogfish, one of which had a quite unusual marking on its belly never seen one like it before. I was happy enough with my pb red gurnard but when mick pulled in a 2lb 2oz plaice that not only blitzed his but also the "club" record :D :D only problem was that as he was playing the fish keeping nice tension I was elected to climb down to delicatly retrive it without dropping the thing, haven't felt pressure like it in a long time, hopefully it will be an experience repeated throughout the "summer"
