Lads,
I'm in the market for a new rod. I'v been using the Penn INXS for the last while and feel its time to step up.
Multiplier/FS isn't a major consideration. I do a fair bit of rough ground stuff and any rod would have to be up to hauling bass/doggies/rays etc. I am not a massive caster and wouldn't mind adding a few yards ao any rod that would help in that department would be looked at closely but again I'm looking for a rounded performer more than anything.
I've read the previous threads with interest and was just hoping somebody could add to the info I have. I don't fish comps or read Sea Angler so my knowledge of the beachcaster market is fairly limited!

Hi Blaker,
I have a Penn Surfblaster Ruff Stuff 14 foot rod. I can highly recommend this as a serious tool for hauling. I teamed it with a 525 mag and with the extra length etc, I can now chuck around 165-170 yards with this with an aerielised off the ground style, a huge improvement on what I was achieving before. There should be a review of it in Tackle review forum. Im very pleased with it. It does take a bit of power to start compressing the blank but when you do........!

Hi, Penn do offer some cracking deals at present and you also get a reel with most of the rods.
PPT are nice rods although some anglers are put off with the yellow whippings. I have a sidewinder and can't fault it
If you are looking to spend some money on a good all rounder from the zziplex stable I would suggest the TF 50/50. A good alrounder that will handle clean, mixed and rough ground without too much trouble.
You will find it hard to get all anglers talking about one rod as we all have our favourites.
Good luck in finding your perfect all rounder
