Adding weight to soft plastics
Hi, what's the best way to ad weight to these? Should I add a lead on the line, then swivel, then a trace or is it better to use a jig head? I plan to rig them Weedless so am working out which hooks to buy the jig head offset ones or normal offset ones. Any advice much apreciated

Jig head and weedles hook, jig head is easier to cast and presents the lure more naturally IMO

Re: Adding weight to soft plastics
Hi
I use 2 methods. The easiest is the weighted hook - have a look here: http://www.agmdiscountfishing.co.uk/hoo ... 8_133.html
I use the Mustad 7 gram and you'll be surprised at how far you can cast it. It also has the 'hitch' to fasten your plastics to so when you are pulling through weeds your SP doesn't get pushed down the shank. With the hook it has you can fish weedless.
The other method is the drop-shot. I like this as you can adjust the depth your SP is fished at and of course I always fish weedless with appropriate hooks. You can cast further with this as you can choose your weight to suit.
