Just been out in Donegal bay on the Dunai Mara today. Mackerel are very small and not over plentiful. All still a long way from the shore.
Species 2011: Mackerel, Sandeel, Cod, Coley, Pouting, Ling, Pollock, Cuckoo Wrasse, Red Gurnard, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Poor Cod.

Got a few off the back of the east pier dun laoighre this eve over high water, only fished for an hour. A fella i talked to had been there all day and had a fair few fish, he said most were got over low water

Got one at the back of pier in Dun Laoghaire last night, fished for 3 hours up to high tide, very poor.

Picking up a few in fenit. very hit and miss though.

Plenty of large mackerel around No.6 buoy in Cork harbour yesterday smaller joeys 3 miles off.

picked up 8 macks in around an hour around Roche's Point yesterday evening from a boat. Starting to trickle into the harbour now hopefully. First of the season taste so good.

A few mack taken on boat off Glengad head and Culdaff, Co. Donegal today. Still scarce enough although some decent sized about.

Well done, congrats! Just one questions, I'm assuming that was at the end of the South Beach? (close to Ballygannon). I hear that some Sea Bass have been caught there in the last 10 days or so. Would appreciate 'a steer' on this as I'm thinking of heading out this evening or tomorrow...

Donegal bay - Bundoran to Rosnowlagh rock marks. Sat 25th June - tried a few times in June and not a single mack.

Hi all,
went out yesterday in greystones, appr. 100 mackarel and 3 small cods on feather. Plenty everywhere, from 100-1000 meters from the Shoreline. ( not tried closer...)
I am sure, that in harbour was caught as well, lots of people were on the pier and rocks around Greystones.
