I was wondering if there was a way of making a weightforward line from a double taper,if so how?

There is yes, cut off the taper up to the heaviest part. You will be losing quite a bit of line of course. Personally I'd just buy a weightforward though!

Yeah just made two heads from a double taper line, took a bit of experimentation to cut down to the correct size but they can certainly fly when set up. If it helps I bought a line 2 sizes over my rod rating, a lighter line would have required a very long head to load the rod.

I prefer to use mill ends for all my SWFF I have had decent lines from mullarkeys over the past few years for £3.99 they take some abuse and cast well and as for the service from mullarkeys I have placed an order at 3pm and recieved it at 9am the next day link below
