Report:Met the lads at westport quay and we headed to inishgort lighthouse on board The Baracuda (thanks Patrick). Landed at around 10.45am. Got gear set up and started fishing at 11.00.
Things started off slowly for me but Conin (the eventual winner) started straight away with a dog. He went steady for the whole day, much to my annoyance!!!
.I got my first dog at around 12.30 and was expecting it to kick off from there, but it wasnt gonna be my day!
The 2 lads beside me pulled in a brace of dogs and then a huss each!
I caught another 8 dogs between 12.30 and 3.30, all the while the two boys pulled in 30 dogs between them and 4 ray!!
Things died down between 3.30-4.15, and then on the stroke of 4.30 i caught my Ray and boy was i relieved!! Everyone had 1 at that stage but me so i was well chuffed!
Another Pair of dogs for conin finished the day and also won the comp for him, albeit by the 1 dog!!
Unlucky Foley....Maybe next yr...
Headed for Westport and a few refreshing pints of the black stuff!!
