short session on a sligo beach/21-06-11

#1 Post by saving private brian »

People:myself,taz and tex

Duration:22.30pm-01.20am

Tide:hw :@23.00pm

Weather:nice enough breeze with an onshore N/W wind that had came from the N/E at first,,small drizzles

Bait:macks, small and large new sandeels i got recently,,razor

Rigs:flappers

Results:fabulous fighting flounders

Report:meself, dom and terry went out last night for a short session,it was the first time the 3 of us fished together in a good while as work and exams got in the way.we werent really expecting much as we only had half an hour of the incoming tide,,but we got set up and belted away,,,nice rolling surf, and what was to be the longest day of the year was looking to be the shortest,,,the wind had came from the n/e to northerly and then on further to the n/w,,,there was speccles of weed but not enough to damping our spirits,,,the 2 lads were getting a stead flow of flounders with tex got a nice beefy buck,,i eventually got into them also with some doubles and from then on we were getting them steady enough.we couldnt believe it that they were so close and were plentiful on an outgoing tide.conditions were good for a bass but we didnt see him.well we were all kept busy so we were happy.its not the best report but i said id stick it up any way..the summer starts now

Nice flounders Brian, well done, it gave you a nice break from hammering those big pollock at rock marks  . As for the vans, was thinking of one myself, fed up of the home crew complaining about the smell of mackeral and dead worms in my car , i must be immune to it . But i've been told theres problems taxing it and D.O.E'ing it if youre not commercial :? Anyone throw any light on this :?
