I've had none whatsoever so far from the shore - rocks or jetty - nor have I seen any feeding here around Donegal Bay. Anyone catching around here ? The weather has not exactly helped.

a few mackeral showing up off the pier in ballycotton in the late evening & early morning with a good high tide

I've been fishing a pier that is usually good this time of year with some good high evening tides but there has been absolutely nothing. Maybe the water's been a little too rough ? Normally I catch when it is nice and calmish on a high evening tide.

fished gunwell killybegs today for 4.5 hours and not a sniff of any macks. caught two small pollock i hope things pick up soon

Poor with only a few mackerel turning up and most of those are small although I had one mackerel of nearly 2 lbs!

I noticed a couple of years ago that reports really slowed down after the season had got going (see a graph I did that year).
So I'd say don't lose hope, they do appear to come in waves to different parts of the country rather than being everywhere for the entire summer
