*NEW CLUB* Kerry Sea-Angling-Club **MEMBERS WANTED**
I am in the early stages of setting up a new Sea Angling Club covering the "Beautiful Kerry Region". The Club will be a shore angling club that will fish all the best venues around the county of Kerry. No Pier competitions will be allowed ! No hairdryers or Toasters as prizes! The club intends to apply for IFSA affiliation.
It will be a very social club run by the anglers for the anglers good. I would like to invite all those that may be interested to either reply here or PM me.
All anglers are welcome from complete beginner to possibly a World Champ!!
Thanks for reading and hope to here from you.

Re: *NEW CLUB* Kerry Sea-Angling-Club **MEMBERS WANTED**
I would envisage Mid-North Kerry fishing on Sundays so people get a chance to dig their bait either on the Saturday or Sunday before the match.
A summer league would also run during the summer months which would be a week day.

Hi Martin,
Insurance is the main issue, that is why Kerry Sac will be seeking IFSA affiliation. Ideally this year but this depends on how things go with the IFSA. I have sent an e-mail to the Secretary of the Munster branch of the IFSA requesting guidance.
If in the unlikely situation we can't get IFSA affiliation then Kerry Sac will arrange their own insurance as a number of clubs do.
As I mentioned in my first post the club will be a very social club run by the anglers for the anglers good. Outside of the many planned shore competitions we will arrange regular meet ups for a bit of fishing, chat etc...

Re: *NEW CLUB* Kerry Sea-Angling-Club **MEMBERS WANTED**
Update on now things are developing and the steps ahead.
My plan is to have the club affiliated to the IFSA and ready for kick off in Jan 2012. There is no point in starting this year as it could be September before we get affiliation and then we would be paying the IFSA in a couple of months time again.
Please note these are only rough figures as I have not received a reply from the secetary of the munster council as of yet. The following is required, a list of 12 members, preferably not members of existing IFSA clubs for obvious reasons and the following fees below.
€125 Club Affiliation Fee
€130 Insurance for the club
€30 per member
Based on the above figures with 12 anglers it would work out at €50 per angler, as the numbers in the club grow I will ensure that these first 12 anglers will receive some of their initial €50 outlay back.
As for venues the club would like to have cover venues in Limerick (Shannon Estuary) and North Kerry targeting members from these counties. I want to cover a very good mix of venues and not just venues where you need to be able to cast 150 yards or have a bucket of peeler crab to be in with a chance.
Some of likely Venues are Beal Strand (Shannon Estuary) in January/Feb 2012 (ray,Whiting, dabs and flounder), Cashen Estuary, Inch Beach, Banna Strand, Glen (shannon Estuary), Ballyheigue, SPA (fenit), Deelish (castlegregory), Another Mark in the Shannon Estuary (TBA). I would also like to arrabge a 2-day Kerry Beach Masters Festival where 3 venues would be fished over 2-days.
We will be open to all suggestions of venues from all members and their input as regards the best tides to fish them will be welcomed.
I would like to start Collecting names from today so we can start the ball rolling and get the club affiliated to the IFSA and well prepared for Kick off. I can be contacted theough this forum, by e-mail KerrySac@gmail.com or on Facebook - Facebook.com/KerrySac

Re: *NEW CLUB* Kerry Sea-Angling-Club **MEMBERS WANTED**
Thanks Donagh for your e-mail, your knowledge of the estuary is much needed.
That's 2 members already that are not members of an IFSA affiliated club. I have been told by a lot of other anglers that are already with IFSA affiliated clubs of their intentions to join the club, these people will naturally be welcomed but it would be nice to get a good number of members who are not affiliated to an IFSA club already.
Keep em coming.

Hi John, This sounds like a great idea a bit of diversity is sorely lacking in Kerry and the North Kerry area is full of un used areas. I'm already affiliated but would be interested in joining when things get up and running. Let me know how things go.

Hey Chris, I am open to ideas and venues suggestions from anyone that is interested, the more ideas etc... the better. Variety of venues is important especially when we are blessed with such variety.sully wrote:Hi John, This sounds like a great idea a bit of diversity is sorely lacking in Kerry and the North Kerry area is full of un used areas. I will keep you up to date with proceedings. Ideally 12 non-IFSA members to start off with but not essential. Check out our facebook page at the link below, its a pretty busy page.

At the moment Kerry Sac are still waiting to receive relevant documentation from the Munster Council of the IFSA. Hopefully it will arrive in the next couple of days so that we can get things moving.

Nothing in the post from Munster Council either today
. I thought this was going to be the easy first step to affiliation. No rush.
