Format for Steyning 2-day Open

So the format will be the same as last year (the format that we were supposed to have rather than the weather forced change around )

Saturday - Casting will START at 9.45 Please be on the field from 9am at the latest to check in, pay remaining fees, get your leads, set up etc.

We will be on the field to set up from 8am and any help would be most welcome!!!!

3 casts on 100 Gram

Then 3 Casts on the 125 gram

Followed by up to 3 casts on your choice of either lead.

The last round will be the one that goes through 5.30

Sausage and chips or Fishcake and chips and a can of drink will be delivered to the field at around lunchtime.

SUNDAY

Casting will start at 10am (this will allow people to get a breakfast at the hotel before arriving at the field in plenty of time to help set up )

3 casts on the 150 followed by 3 casts on the 175 followed by up to 3 rounds using either lead.

The last round will again be the one which passes through 5.30

Food will be a Packed lunch which will again be delivered to the field

Your first weight in each category is supplied as part of your fee. Any replacements thereafter will need to be bought at the normal club costs. ONLY LEADS SUPPLIED FOR THIS EVENT CAN BE USED!!!!

All crack offs MUST be accounted for. Anyone who does not look for their crack offs after the round in which it was made will have all distances for that weight category scrubbed

Line and leader regulations are standard UKSF rules. Line diameter checks WILL be made throughout the weekend, please do not be offended

There will be a raffle and you will also be able to buy tickets for the EFISHsell Zziplex Raffle . All offers of prizes will be gratefully accepted )

If you are on the list but not attending, please let me know in advance as I will be publishing the casting order in the days leading up to the event.

My first SCI road trip, cant wait. Im looking forward to seeing all the top casters from around the world, hopfully get a few pb's but im not looking forward to my first cast in front of the casting world

Ahh yes,,, the sweaty hands and knocking knees, I remember it well.
It's called OCHE BOTTLE! Winding up that 1st big one with the cream of the casting world gazing on and praying "keep it together, don't crack off! Jesus oh Jesus oh Jesus,,,!"
ooh the pressure...

But at least we will all be there to support you and help you through it

Don't worry I'm sure Nelson Muntz has me lined up for the first cast...

Yes can be daunting casting in front of the best. GP4 last year I had sweaty hands, heart beating like crazy, weak legs, couldn't put enough power in to even swing the lead. 2 or 3 casts later no probs.
Like Andy says just don't do a Roy Munsun!

make a complete bolloxs of the swing and end up with the 175grm impaled in the earth two feet in front of the ockey, like i did last year

I remember that lee, and it took balls to stay on the oche and go again when everyone else expected you to get off it.

Ps I think you were supposed too,

2 cast Gallagher I heard someone say.

i thought it best to just cast again staff, better to hang on to some confidence

was half expecting someone to complain but i heard nothing

two casts gallagher-i like that though
