Orinoco plus other boat, Ballyhack, 28/05/11

#1 Post by Stan »

People:Borough SAC ( 16)

Duration:6.5 hours

Tide: 2 hours going and the rest rising

Weather: variable but seas were high with SW winds

Bait: various but mainly rag and macks

Rigs:various

Results: excellent :D :D :D
Report: Headed out at 10am and tried a local spot with few fish. Pushed outwards and started catching. It was only when the tide turned that we started really catching.

At the end the scores were very high on our boat. The lowest was 590 and the highest was 980. Seven species were caught including cod ( just over 100 on our boat), pollack, ballan wrasse, cuckoo wrasse, pouting, coalies.

I would say that on the Orincoco the fishing was brilliant. The other boat did not seem to do as well.

Both boats are excellent and the location is to be highly recommended.

All in all a great day and the crack was as usual mighty.

Twinkle, we had a great BBQ yesterday and still had lots of fish left over. Hopefully, some cod will make their way up the E coast.
