Mono or braid line ???

Mono or braid line ???

im just geting back into boat fishing and bought myself a nice new daiwa kenzaki braid special boat rod and a shimano tld 20 multiplier. ive never used braid before so havnt a clue of the advantages or disadvantages.can somebody shed some light on this issue for me.i assume cause my rod is called a braid special then its best suited for braid.anyway i havnt a clue so any input appreciated.

Depends what your fishing for. Rough skinned species such as shark, skate, dogfish etc.. mono is definately better as it is more chafe resistant against rough skin. Mono is also smoother if, like me, you like to guide the line with your thumb. Those considerations apart, you get more line on your reel with braided.
