Bottled fish oils
just wondering if anyone has any opinions on using the bottled fish oils for attracting fish, like soaking sponge in it and putting it on your rig etc. does it actually work or is it just a money spinner.

Re: Bottled fish oils
I don't know about soaking a sponge and putting it on a hook. But i know older lads that leave space in the top of the pipe when making pirks, they stuff the gap with cotton wool and soak it in fish oil. It must add some attractant. Also i've used pilchard oil to rehydrate salted muscles before and caught a few codling on it but maybe i would have caught the codling if i didn't use the fish oil too. Worth a try for hook baits but i usually just add a bit of it to rubby dubby and ground bait for mullet.steol5589 wrote:just wondering if anyone has any opinions on using the bottled fish oils for attracting fish, like soaking sponge in it and putting it on your rig etc. does it actually work or is it just a money spinner.
