hi all,

I would on behalf of the irish open shore league organising committee like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made this event a huge success in its first year.

Firstly and formostly we would like to thank every angler who took part in all or any of the six legs.

Secondly we would like to thank the four host clubs involved west cork and district angling club, cloyne sea angling club, wexford sea angling club and dunmore sea angling club.

We would also like to thank all the individuals who imparted advice and assistance during the initial setting up and during the running of the league.

Over the six legs of the league 87 anglers participated representing no less than 19 clubs. 2009 fish were landed recorded and released and these comprised 13 different species.

All entry monies were given out 100% as prizes over the course of the league; there was €3285 in day prizes, €1100 in overall prizes, €1000 in fish pools, €600 in 2 man team prizes and €280 in 4 man team prizes. This made the overall prize fund €6265.

Judging by this level of success in the first year I can only imagine with the continued support of the anglers and the organisers that the league will grow and improve over the coming years.

All that is left is to offer many congratulations and a big well done to Martin Howlin who is the 2011 Irish Open Shore League Champion.

Congratulations and well done to Ruari Ganley who is the 2011 Irish Open Shore League Juvenile Champion.

Congratulations also to the top ten anglers who are listed below,

1st Martin Howlin Wexford SAC
2nd Alan Mulcahy Dunamore SAC
3rd James Ryan Newross SAC
4th Cliff Gallogley BASS Club
5th Joe Carley Menapia
6th JP Molloy West Cork & District
7th Joe Duggan Wexford SAC
8th John Watchorn Bannow Bay SAC
9th James Gordon Menapia
10th Paudie O Driscoll West Cork & District

Please find the fully updated scoresheet attached below for any questions or queries just ask.

cheers

Well done Martin 8) Well deserved..... and Ruari Ganley is definitely one to watch for the future.

IMO this is heading towards being the most competitive league in the country, plenty of well thought out venues fished at the right times of year and tide with the right baits .... The added bonus of being allowed to use bait is fantastic.

Big bags of quality fish available at most of the legs.

For the large number of anglers who have fished the East coast for years , these southern match venues are like a trip back in time... Large numbers of Coalies at close range with big bags of Cod , Dogs & Ray.

.

howya paul,

my sincerest apologies for that miscalculation and thanks for pointing it out. with regard to the wait after the inch competition we did have a fair amount of work to do tallying the results for both that days session and then the overall listing, with an entry of almost 40 anglers all of the inch scores had to be incorporated into the overall results sheet. we aopolgise if this inconvenienced you. please find attached the updated sheet with your score tally corrected. again the mistake was mine and i am sorry.

cheers.
