Dublin 29/04/2011

#1 Post by dfella25 »

People:John1, Bigsod and myself

Duration:8 till 12

Tide:HT @10:30

Weather:Windy and a little bit choppy

Bait:Crab and John's secret mixture

Rigs:Pulley's

Results:Smooth Hounds to 5lb

Report:With Gordy away I decided that it was time to start seeing other people. So I met up with the lads for another shot at the hounds. The sea looked a little rough tonight, but like last time when darkness fell they came on the feed. The lads were first off with fish while I got snagged and then a birds nest on my reel. I thought it was going to be one of those sessions!

Thankfully I landed a couple after that as the tide slacked. I think Sod might have had the biggest one of the night. The lads headed off and I stayed on for another hour with only one small one afterwards.

My eagerness to remain on fishing meant I missed the chipper though

Nice evening with a few hounds to entertain us, my best fish was just shy of 5 and a half pounds and gave a great scrap on light tackle.

you better believe it brian, hounds fight better pound for pound than any other species i have come accross, throw a bass rod into the mix and you have a scrap even from a 3 to 4 pound fish.
