irish team for world championships 2011

#1 Post by AG »

it looks like we have a green light for this , we will have to pay our own way etc , €450 entry fee plus flights around €150 per man , team of five , we need to know who is available to see if we have a team , we might be able to raise funds etc to help :?:

as far as i am aware the €450 covers entry and accomodation for the week , the flights look to be around €150 return with another €80 for the rod tube , its four days of competition casting all four leads , 100 , 125 , 150 and 175 . , a green irish blazer will also need to be purchased for the event ,

This will be the first time an Irish casting team will compete at such an event on the World stage, added to that there are casters in Ireland who can and do mix it with the worlds best at other casting events. A great oppurtunity to have top representation on all fronts at these games for Ireland. Lets get the best we have that are available and willing to travel to these games and do us proud.

For me personally it will be a very proud moment seeing AG and JP at the same event representing Ireland, my 2 little boys, all grown up! :D

it is looking like a day at the end of june for the team qualifier day , an ifsa representative will be there to see the smooth running of the event , also the €450 entry fee is payable on this day . for all qualifiers , the event will most likely be 4 casts per lead ,100 , 125 , 150 and 175 grm , with your total agg score over the 4 leads being your qualafying score . hope to see everyone down and trying there very best , to create a bit of history 8)

With it being held in conjunction with the World Angling Games the atmosphere will be very good with many 100's of people in 1 place covering all angling disciplines.

Although it is great to see an Irish team at the finals
I think it is a joke that you will have to pay for your own transport and accommodation
after all you are representing your country
I don't want to put a downer on this, just my own opinion
Good luck to all concerned

That it may be Cathal but it's not breaking news and anyone willing to go is aware of the commitment required.

Lets keep it positive, a team donation will help your sense of outrage :D

Yes long overdue. Top five Irish casters if all can make it could challenge for gold. No reason why not. I will be talking to Dennis Retter on Sun hopefully and he knows CIPS inside out so I will try to get more details about cost and post it here.
