LENAN PIER

#1 Post by gdstafford »

DATE 25/04/11

People:Me and Paul

Duration: noon till 4ish

Tide:High to ebb

Weather:slight breeze but warm

Bait:sandeel mack and Rag

Rigs:pullys and flappers

Results:Me 1 sole 3 Plaice Paul 1 Plaice

When we arrived 1 hour before high tide 2 where already on the pier fishing away, the guy beside us already had a plaice. Baited up with rag tiped with mack and after 20 mins just as i was about to reel in the tip started to move so did the guys rod beside me, as we reeled in we noticed we where tangled slowly as we continued we spot another flatie but it was his so as we continued to wind in we seen another smaller flattie this was attached to my line. Unhooked he was soon swiming off. Having 2 nice flatties of he went home to lunch. It went all quiet for a while untill i again noticed the same twitch in the rod, another flattie an a another small one at that, back he went. Four o clock starting to pack up when the rod twitched again a quick reel in and a good size fish appears we where unsure what it was but our friendly fishmonger soon told us it was a sole, so home it went (real Tasty  ) decided one more cast as so far Paul was on a blank and just 5 mins later we had a plaice each this time of eatable size.
