Bluebird, Howth 22.April.11

#1 Post by herefishyfishy »

People: Myself, Emma & Derek

Duration: 12.00 - 15.00

Tide: On the way in (was full at 15.31)

Weather: overcast

Rigs: Shrimp feathers

Results: 3 whiting

Well it wasn't really a fishing outing, but we did manage to get some fishing done. I promised Emma i take her out on the boat so Good Friday was set as the date. wanted to head eariler but just couldnt get out of the bed that early knowing it was a friday and i didnt have work to go to. went on a little spin to try and get emma her sea legs it wasnt to bad out but nothing compared to the lake like conditions i had the previous week. So when she said is this rought we sayed no this is like a pancake. it settled her and on we ploughted around the island. See a charter anchored of the island jigging away but we steam on past. we went down to the bailey where we deciding on trying a spot of fishing we had a go for about 15mins but only got 3 small whiting (2 for me and 1 for emma) poor Derek he never gets any luck while fishing with me, as Emma had a go for only 2mins. Her sea legs started to go soon after we started our drift so we decided to save her and headed back to port. All in all nice day to be out and caught the first fish of 2011 in the boat. hopefully many more to follow.
Must try and get out on the shore Friday night and hit a beach for some nice fishing.

now when we did go around by the bailey it was choppy nothing much but we did catch a few big waves from the ferry she enjoyed that bit alright but it think the hard part is on the drift especially if your not fishing its always worse. So i just told her to take up fishing at that will help feeling sick
