Report:Nice evening but the flat calm conditions were a repeat of last weeks session, where we didnt get a bite for 3 hours

. We had better luck this time, it only took 2 hours to get a bite

. I was first off the mark with a decent flounder , 32cms, my biggest this year

, but the smile was wiped off my face by Neil bringing in a treble, 2 whiting and a flounder

. He had some more decent flounder to 32cms, nice thick ones, and he was getting all the fish. I had a schoolie bass nearly landed when he shook the hook, leaving me frustrated again

. I got a couple of dogs to make it a bit respectable, but Neil caught a pup smoothound , first of the year for him. I was delighted for him

. The rag seemed to work best , with nothing touching my crab, except other crabs. You have to admire their skill in removing the bait while leaving the elastic thread for me to remove

. Neil said he got the smoothie on crab

He headed off at 10-30pm as he gets very tired and has to be home before midnight

. I should have left at the same time for all I got in the next hour was a rockling,,,,still,,, at least things are picking up and all my fish were counters over the twenty

,,,,,you have to think positive
