Report:
Good evening SAI, I'm reporting off the back of a pretty successful session on the Antrim coast with Shep and Gabby, 2 venues around the Red bay area, which threw up some good results for us today.
We arrived at our first mark for around 10am, and got set up, this mark HAD to live up to expectation, as we'd been ranting to Dean for days about the quality of the fishing it was possible to experience on the Antrim coast.. We all got rigged up with loops and first casts were made, 2 Rods each in the water, so plenty of scent floating about to keep the fish interested.
A steady stream of fish soon ensued, with Plaice, Flounder, a Dab and Coalies all falling to Ragworm tipped with a Mackeral strip. Weed was a real problem on this venue, which I'd never experienced here before, huge bands of kelp like weeds coated the hooks, weights and leader knots, making clearing them to rebait a bit of a chore.
During the lumps of weed however Dean managed a daytime dogfish, which made him happy! Fishing began to slaken off on the last 1/3 of the drop, with only the odd small plaice still showing.
The lads had never really fished a beach, and so, since the weed was still being a hassle and the fishing was ever slackening, we went on round for a little blast on waterfoot beach.
Flounder fishing was the order of the day here, and we adjusted our rigs accordingly. Pulling out doubles and trebles of flounders during our time here, the lads actually couldn't believe how close in you fish for flounders on a beach, but after a bit of gentle persuasion they were both also in the suds and soon pulling out a few flats.
With tummys rumbling we decided to call it quits at 5, following the coast road to Carnlough where dinner was an epic chippy from the Galley.
Another great day out.
I'll add the pictures tomorrow when I get them resized.

Spot on day, hard to tell the flatty bite at times but certainly a spot of luck with the doggy and your nice plaice.
As Drew said weed got a real issue when I started pulling in stems thought we might get moving.
All in all my best day fishing for a long time, nice to round it up with numerous flounders and then the chippy haha
Looking forward to the new rod inc so I dont have to mass panic when I catch a good kelp bed
Hopefully well get a day out soon again and have another good day of it.

Drew forgot to mention that I only caught one fish at the first mark, an epicly small scorpion fish which I didn't even realise I had hooked!!
The beach produced a lot of flounder for me though and I still enjoyed myself!
