#1 Post by herefishyfishy »

People: Myself & Derek

Duration: 11.30 - 15.00

Tide: On the way out (was full at 10ish)

Weather: little wind and sun with small showers

Bait: mackeral and Lug

Rigs: baited feathers

Results: Blank

Report: Well it was more of a day out to relax and bring a friend out more than a fishing trip. We stated off around the back of island eye, and covered all the usual ground from there down to balsccadden and around to the bailey. Was a lovely day out and a nice run out on the boat. Watching the temp and it sems to be rising nicely. Hoping to get out again soon so relaxing and enjoyable afternoon. Called it a day and then went to an all you can eat restraunt for my dads birthday what more can you ask for. (other than a few fish).

No still nothing on the space yet for the boat still lugging it out of the back garden leaving a trench or two behind, and blocking up the entire road for a while when i'm bring her in and out of the garden. But sure what can you do? but sure what can you do. I still have a free irons in the fire for the boat space. i got the engine serviced from the lads last month and went out on Paddy's day and even a few others said that the engine seemed sweet as a nut when she was ticking over. Might try and get out again this weekend or next just got to get this fotball season over and done with and then i have my weekends back. Thank god.

Nice to get out for a spin sometimes even if its a blank.
I hope to get out of Howth myself again sometime soon. Went for a walk there on Monday and it was flat calm, would have loved to have the boat (and not the wife) with me.

As the lads say, always nice to get out for a spin.

Have you tried varying your traces at all?

Nailing a few baits to the sea bed would I'm sure see you picking up a few dabs, dogs etc.

Perhaps try something like this http://www.seafishingonline.com/Fishing ... er_Rig.htm

But I'd drop the hook sizes down to 4's 2's or 1's.
