Majorca: Puerto Polensa

#1 Post by Chris Mc »

I am going to Peurto Polensa in Majorca for a holiday this year and was wondering if anyone knows anything about shore angling in this area and what gear I should bring with me.

try Puerto Soller instead...

Afraid I can not be of much help here, but I did look at the fishing around Santa Ponsa and it was not great. It is a very shallow bay, small bream and such like to bread and sweet corn on really light tackle and tiny hooks (8s). My advice would be to try to find ground on the mountainous side of the island, around Puerto Soller (lovely spot). Big deep natural harbour.

Saw loads of small silver fish around the marina there...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks
