Buncrana pier 16/03/2011

#1 Post by cathald »

People:me and Tom

Duration:08.30-3

Tide:low water 9.45

Weather:nice to start but got windy

Bait:mac lug sandeel

Rigs:pullys and flappers

Results:me blankety blank
Tom a wee dab

Report:Got the text from Tom that he was for Buncrana so away I went.Got there about 8.30 and Tom was just set up and rods out.
Coffee first then set up myself. It was a super morning with the swilly flat calm but not a bite to be seen
After a while Tom reeled in to change bait and a wee tiny dab was on the line, the lug it had ate was bigger than it but at least the blank was saved.
The wind got up and was gusting down the swilly which made it fairly cold and no fish made it even colder
A local half wit JJ came along and was talking to us for about an hour and that kept us entertained I think he must be a far out family member of the banjo man from Leenan...we can fair attract them...
Anyhow packed up around 3 or so and headed home

A few photos
Tom launching a bait down the swilly and the little dab
