Linder 440 yes or no

hey everybody newbie here from enniscorthy wexford, please to meet everyone, thinking of buying a new linder 440 from o sullivan marine in tralee, was all set to buy till a friend of mine was talking to someone from the fisheries board who have one and he said great boat inshore but they have been thrown out of theirs once or twice off shore, i would be buying mine for inshore and a bit of tight shore spnning for bass, anyone any knowledge of these boats cheers marc

I think your friend is right, I would only take that out inshore in very good weather.

But in nice weather I think you could have some great evening bass sessions from it.

Personally I don't like metal boats.

If that is the style boat in the picture: It is what it is: a 14' aluminium boat. No reason why you could not fish out of it. Obviously conditions, ability etc. would be a big factor. There are probably better options out there as a "bass" boat.

what would you recommend, a longliner is on the list aswell its just the whole new and warrenty thig appealed to me, what other options are out there, single handed launching has to be accounted for aswell

Depends on your budget... and what you intend to use the boat for.

Your linder would be fine with a small outboard on a calm evening staying within half a mile from the shore I expect.

no i would be more of a turn the key and go lad

have to spin up to a nigel chap in mullingar he has 20 orkneys up there to choose from longlingers, fastliners and strikeliners so hopefully i will come away with one

I used to work for O`Sullivan`s Dublin and I have sold loads of the Linder`s. The 410 fisherman is very light and narrow .Ideal for canal and sheltered lake`s/harbours but not for open sea.
The 440 Fisherman is grand for a mile or so in good calm weather. The ideal engine is a 6 hp l/s

They have great buoyancy built into the seats and well able to take a hammering.

Well lad hows things i hear you boys are buying fancy new reals and rods.....for the coming season....would Gahan not sell you a share in Wahoo Dahoo....LOL.....try the orkney route i think its a better buy for what we want Marc.....all the best Baz.............
