South beach greystones just before the river where the driving range is now i'd say?

that brings back memories "the hungry acre" it was called ,dont know why ,used to fish it with two buddies kevin kenny and peter boland during our summer
holidays . we would get the 84 bus down around nine pm set up camp fill an old pillowcase with codling and get the first bus home the following morning.
the odd time the 3 of us would fall asleep on the bus and end up missing our stop . the good auld days

brings back memories when i used to fish it at night during the summer holidays with 2 old buddies kevin kenny and peter boland . we would get an 84 down around 9 pm
fish through the night fill an old pillowcase with codling and get the first bus back yhe following morning . the odd time we would nod off on the bus and miss our stop
the "hungry acre " as it was called , dont know why , we had good catches and in the summer ! what went wrong ?

Git i walked them tracks a lot in my day.thanks for the memories .Some of the ghosts of ballygannon are still walking them tracks,and catching 10 lbs cod and bass.Billy Duffy , Mick Russell ,Harry Gaffney, Bunnie Manning to name a few.

my dad use to bring me there as a kid, head down in his old ford escort with the broken boot hahaha, some great cod we caught of the beach, although i was only a nipper i still remember it from that photo,,, ,,, thanks for the memories!!!

Here are some pics from a long time ago. You can see Henry Wholohan, Paul Kelly, Tommy Keogh weighing in Spurdogs at an IMASA competition in Tinaberna in the early eighty. a lot of the name i've forgot can anyone put names to faces????

They are great pics man! You kinda hope that some people will have pics of ourselves like that in 20 years ;)

The man on the right with arms folded beside tommy keogh is Bob Reynolds.
he was a member of the 6/0 club and you will be happy to know he is still alive and doing a small bit of fishing :wink:
he used to catch tope from the shore before any one ever heard of it 8)
