Duration:18.30 to 21.00

Tide:high 20.41 4.9m

Weather:windy with heavy showers

Bait:lug,white rag,mackerel,limpets

Rigs:various

Results:1 ballen wrasse,6 pollack




Report:I went to the pier first and met a angler fishing there he hadn't had much luck after a few hours of fishing,the water looked very brown from all the fresh water flowing down from the mountain so I headed off to find a rock mark,it was hard to find a spot that was well away from the big swells finely found a safe spot and set up,wasn't long before I got a ballen wrasse then it went quite until near dark when I got the pollack

I cant complain that I didn't get out often this year,i have lost track of the sessions this year :D :D

thanks Alan,I didn't try any of the ray marks in a while but hopefully I will try a few of them in the next few sessions and will let you know how I get on

i was the unlucky angler you were talking about :D i still didnt get up and i am looking for a good spot near spiddal for wrasse fishing.
do you know anything? for a small fee... :roll:

ballen wrasse this time of the year :shock: wouldn't even thought that it can be cought that early
you propobly first man this year who managed one

& there was me thinking wrasse from the shore in feburary :shock: not noticing it was actully a report from 2010 :wink: roll on the wrasse 8)

hehehe...sorry guys for confusion but I posted on gerrys report which is from 12th sept 2010...
So this is not a new report actually...
...no early wrasse unfortunately

hope they come in soon for a good fight

I wish I could report wrasse from the shore this early,hopefully it wont be too long more before they are back

ha gerry.. good to know im not the only one that keeps trying spiddal.. not fishing good at all in the last few years... but ha maybe the big one will be caught there... pleanty of nice wrasse marks around there......
