Trailer Wheel & Tyres

#1 Post by herefishyfishy »

Can someone please let me know where the best place is to get new tyres for my trailer. the Tyres on the trailer are B78 13. Does anyone know any good places that supply the tyres (even with rims). I'm based in Artane in Dublin. If so could you also put up approx costs.
Thanks.

the B78 13 must be on the trailer a long time because they are cross ply tyres, have a look for 175/80-13 on http://www.eiretyres.com/ the 175/80-13 is a Radial tyre and is the same size as the b78 13 cross ply tyre, don't mix cross ply tyres and Radial tyres on the Trailer

Cheers for the replies lads, so in a nutshell.
You can use normal tyres on the trailer once i dont mix cross ply and radial tyres?
And finally the B78 13 are now redundant so i will need the 175/80-13?
Thanks again for the replies.

Depending on the load, you will probably need 8-ply "commercial" tyres as your "normal" car tyre may not take the weight.

Also with the 8 ply you will need to make sure they are high speed or they won't be any good to you.

did a bit of research and see that the tyre is a 6 ply tyre with a load rating of 616kg so the tyre you would be looking for is a 175/80R13 91T the 91 on the tyre means that the tyre has a load rating of 615kg
13inch 8ply reinforced tyres could be hard to find as most vans have 14 inch or bigger rims, you might need to get some one to order them in for you
