Kerry 22/2/11
People:ME
Duration:4 hours
Tide:Started at low water
Weather:Misty, light westly eing
Bait:Fresh lug
Rigs:Single dropper pennell 3/0
Results:3 Bass
I went out last saturday hoping for a bumper bass day with 5m tide, but offshore winds and weed put a halt to that,
At one stage there was around a dozen anglers fishing in the only spot of the beach with out weed and all that was caught was one schoolie and a flounder,, So today Tuesday I deceided to try again, and dug some lug for a two hour session.. Got to beach and found that the weed was even worse, so deceided to throw in the towel after 2 casts..
So now I got a good bait but beach unfishable.. deceided to travel around 10 miles to another beach that I had heard of, but never fished before..A lot of driving down narrow potholed roads later found a spot that looked good and there was another angler fishing there already.. as I walked on the beach, he was leaving after fishing for an hour and a half without a bite. No weed here but water coloured..First cast nothing but I did notice that as the tide moved in, water was clearer so rebaited and casted it out about 80 yards,, after 15 minutes, I get the classic knock knock slack line bite of a bass..
wound down and struck and landed a nice fish of around 3 lbs.. Life is good again.. next cast, same story only this time its a fine fish of 6 lbs +..next cast and a 3rd bass of about 2-3lbs.. Missed a bite on next cast and had one final cast after that without a bite but It was a fantastic afternoon
