North Coast, 23/02/11

People: Dan, Bingham, Drew

Duration: 5pm - 9pm

Tide: Pushing

Weather: Lovely actually

Bait: Rag, Lug, White Rag, Mackeral, Bluey, Squid

Rigs: Flappers, Loops, Conger Rigs

Results:

Tadpole fish, 3 Bd Rkling, Shore Rkling, Coalfish, Flounder, Poor Cod

Report:

Not much to report really, back up the coast for another root around, Started picking the Coalies up in daylight but had to wait for dark for the rest.
Happy enough to get my first ever Tadpole fish! wasn't a bad one either....
Roll on tomorrow night for another trip!

Well done on the tadpole fish Drew, I only heard of them for the 1st time last spring, never seen one, interesting wee fish.
2013 Sea Species:- Bass, Flounder, 5 Beard Rockling, Shore Rockling, Whiting, red gurnard, grey gurnard, Pollack, coley, mackerel, sea trout, cant remember cos I didn't update at the time.....
2012 Sea species:- Pollack, Coley, Mackerel, Cod, Bass, Sea Trout, Haddock, Plaice, Dab, Flounder, Red Gurnard, Grey Gurnard, Pouting, Whiting, Corkwing Wrasse, Ballan Wrasse, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Brown Trout caught on beach.
2011 Sea species:- codling, L.S. dogfish, coley, whiting, pollack(4lb 3oz), sea trout, shore conger eel (15lb), ballan wrasse, grey gurnard, plaice, dab (and lobster).

8) Thanks Cathal, was fishing down a crevace and had the headtorch off as I believe it spooks fish, got a good solid bite and up he popped, thought it was a huge shorey at the start but when I got the light on I saw the shape of the fish and big white mouth... I'm made up, as I've been fishing for years and never had one. 8)

Nice one on the tadpole fish. Strange looking creature but a good catch all the same. Congrats on the new species.

was a good night, was good to see the tadpolefish, i was happy to get my 3 Bearded Rockling and Flounder for the Year. :D :D :D :D
