Report:decided to have a go down anny with codling and ray being the target ,got to our stretch of beach about an hour into the rise and for the first hour nothing but small rattles at the bait,i stuck out a rod for bass in close with big razor baits it was getting wolloped off by small fish but nothing until 2 hours in when a fat little codling managed to stuff the half razor down his gob by now shane was getting some good knocks and so was i on my distance rod for the next hour i managed a dog on every cast mac,and razor cocktails and mac and sandeel cocktails doing the honours ,shane was going out futher than me looking for a raymond but only managed a doggie for his efforts and snook a sneeky cast in close to pull out a codling I would normally moan about doggies but the way fishing is at the moment i was glad to see my rodtip nodding and a bend in the tip not caused by weed pics too follow when i get my gear in,yaaawn
Well done Lads. Got a doggie the other night when the lads were gettin pin whiting and slugs. Very welcomed indeed. Will be a different story though in a few months...

Well done on the session rodger, dogs arnt all that bad and as u said u can atleast tell you have a fish on ur line. Surprised u dint pick up a flat.
Was there on Saturday, and was told the beach doesn't produce dogs so I didn't use my sand eels. Wish I had thrown one out on sat nite now. Instead of wasting them. Next time I will just give it ago, I don't mind dragging in dogs, they bend the rod and actually make u feel like u atleast caught a fish!

Great to get a few fish roger even if it wasent what your were looking for,i havent been out since toberpatrick i was thinking of trying for a huss or ray myself down that direction. I was laughed at when i said that in a tackle shop today id have a better chance having a cast in the bath i was told ,is it a bit premature at present?
fish dont read angling magazines or go to tackle shops if you dont try you never know,i,ve had many speices on marks where your not suposed to get them we where thinking spurdog might show aswell big tides can bring in some suprise catches and anny is a mark known for them
Man you love your fishing (against the odds)!Il be heading out tomorrow night to try and latch onto something a dog fish would do me as much as i hate to say it

Well done Roger and Shane ,thats a different part of Ennereilly, i recognise that bit of beach ,we were on the part with no dogs ,and anyways I was targeting large bass and pin whiting .If there were any dogs there Neil would have sneaked one before he left for his beauty sleep
