ferrypoint 16th feb

#1 Post by seanie35 »

People:me

Duration:2 hours

Tide:dropping

Weather:showery

Bait:frozen peeler

Rigs:pennel 4/0

Results:3 codling

Report:had a bass plan but that got thrown out after my first cast yielded 2 stone of weed in under 3 minutes packed up and walked away so headed to ferrypoint to see if there was any codling on the feed, nothing for first half hour then as the tide slackened great bite and fight off a stumpy codling about 5-6lb got 2 more smaller ones then hit the road 8)

Fair play sean. Good result getting a few fish down that way after all the rain. Might have to take a spin some day next week. Wouldn't mind a good size codling. Things are a bit wild and weedy on the beaches at the moment alright. Had two beach sessions in the last week and our arms were aching by the end of the night from pulling in hedges of the stuff.

That's a cracker of a codling seanie, well done mate 8) It's a shame that the weed spoilt your original plans of going for the bass but there will be plenty of opportunity for you to go out after them again when the weed clears up. Bet you can't wait to get the lures out again, I know I can't.

Hi Sean what a very nice cod, he is so plump and a really well made up fish. I would be way happier with that fine cod than a bass the same size any day.

I have only just been able to see the pic, as I said my internet was down yesterday morning and then I was down with you at Youghal all afternoon and night. It is a pity we did not get any that size last night, that weed was a killer mate, but there will be other times and other fish mate.

Best regards Wez
