North Dublin-13-2-11

#1 Post by Al »

People:Myself and Mark

Duration:2 hours

Tide:rise

Weather:Weirdly nice

Bait:squid, mac, herring, frozen black and prawn

Rigs:Pully,1 Hook with rotton bottoms

Results:2 codling mark, Blank for me

Went to a Rock Mark in North Dublin to see if there were any Codling hanging around, We had monster Cocktail baits with everything on them, It felt weird using monster baits in North Dublin in Feb for Codling  But mark assured me that it could work! Any way I was using a pully while mark used his own weird rig  We fished into a crease about 30 foot out from us and after about 10 minutes mark got a rattle on his rod, we were thinking coalie but it then gave a good bend on the rod..unfortunately it was gone. We fished on, and mark was getting hits from small fish and I didn't get a tap  He then brought in a small codling in the late 20's. About half an hour later marks rod went again, it brought him to ground but thank god for rotton bottoms :) he then brought in a nice codling in the early to mid-40's and had a few fillets for din din.
Wasn't hectic fishing but it's nice to see there's a chance of a nice codling on your doorstep :D
